Ideas into Action: Building a Culture of Innovation at Cove Group

Ideas Into Action

Vision. Innovation. Excellence.

Three principles that sit at the heart of Cove Group and guide how we build, develop and grow our businesses.

Vision Sets the Direction.

Innovation Shapes the Journey.

Excellence Defines the Standard

While our vision establishes where we want to go, we believe innovation is something that should involve everyone across our organisation. That’s why we’re launching Ideas into Action, our new Employee Innovation Hub, designed to turn the ideas, knowledge and creativity of our people into meaningful opportunities for improvement, development and growth.

At Cove Group we are driven by opportunity and want all employees to be involved with Innovation.

From transforming historic buildings into visitor attractions to developing businesses across property, hospitality and investment, our journey has been shaped by a willingness to challenge conventional thinking.

But innovation isn’t limited to ambitious projects or entirely new business ideas. It can be as simple as improving a process, finding a more efficient way of working, enhancing a customer experience or identifying an opportunity that others may have overlooked.

Our people work across different businesses, departments and locations, each bringing their own experiences, knowledge and perspectives. This gives us an enormous opportunity to innovate.

“The next great idea for Cove Group won’t come from a boardroom, it will come from our people, working anywhere within the business. Our responsibility is to create an environment where those ideas can be shared, considered and developed.”

Moving Beyond Ideas and Good Intentions

Encouraging employees to share suggestions is nothing new, the real challenge is what happens afterwards. Ideas are raised in meetings, discussed between colleagues or passed to managers, but without a clear process, they can lose momentum or disappear altogether.

Even when suggestions are considered, the person who raised them may never know the outcome. And of course, at Cove we do things differently.

Our new Ideas into Action initiative introduces a structured Innovation Hub where employees can submit suggestions, receive feedback and understand where their ideas sit within the review process.

Every submission will be acknowledged and considered, with employees kept informed about its progress and outcome. Not every idea will be implemented. Some may need developing, others might not be practical, and some may simply not be right for the business at that time.

“Every idea deserves consideration, and every employee deserves feedback. We’re not simply creating another suggestion box, we’re establishing a process that brings transparency, ownership and accountability to how we respond to ideas.”

Using Asana to Turn Ideas into Action

An important part of making this initiative work is having the right systems behind it. We’ve built our Innovation Hub directly into Asana, using the platform as the backbone of our idea submission, review and development process.

Rather than relying on emails, conversations or disconnected spreadsheets, Asana provides a central place where ideas can be captured, organised, tracked and progressed.

This allows us to establish clear stages of review, assign responsibility and maintain visibility of where ideas sit within the process. Importantly, it also supports our commitment to providing employees with updates and direct feedback on their suggestions.

Where an idea is approved for further development, it can move from an initial suggestion into a structured project with clear ownership and actions. Technology alone doesn’t create accountability, but when combined with the right processes and behaviours, it can make a significant difference.

For us, Asana helps bridge the gap between having an idea and actually doing something with it.

Culture Is Built Through Actions, Not Words

Cove Group is founded on the principles of being an entrepreneurial, people-first, high-performance culture. A place where employees are encouraged to take ownership, challenge thinking and contribute to our collective success.

“A strong company culture isn’t created overnight, it develops over time through the decisions we make, the standards we maintain, the opportunities we create and the way we treat one another. It requires everyone across the organisation to play their part.”

Equally, encouraging people to contribute means little without a genuine commitment to listening, responding and following through. Ideas into Action is one of the ways we’re turning our values into practical action.

It supports our commitment to Bold Innovation by encouraging fresh thinking, People First by giving employees a voice, and Trust & Transparency by ensuring ideas receive feedback and follow-up.

We’re continuing to develop our culture as Cove grows, recognising we don’t always get it right, and that no single initiative will achieve that on its own. By creating the right structures, opportunities and accountability, we can continue moving in the right direction.

Building Our Future Together

As Cove Group continues to evolve, our ambition is to build exceptional businesses that create lasting impact. Achieving that ambition requires clear vision, a willingness to innovate and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

Most importantly, it requires the collective contribution of our people.

“Because while our vision sets the direction, it’s our people who will help shape the journey and turn that vision into reality.”

“Every idea matters and every voice counts.”
